The secret to government control?

I suppose i see things like Maslow's Hierarchy of needs. Dr. Abraham Maslow created a theory explaining the action of people. Its most commonly displayed as a pyramid, with the most vital of all human needs forming the base (physiological needs) and the peak being self-actualization.
When the government can pull away and make us fear losing our physiological needs like food and shelter (falling economy, foreclosure of houses) they make us scared and we are left hopeless. Mindless. And we can't move on to the next steps until we fulfill our physiological needs.

If they pull away our safety needs ( through war, terrorism,), we can not move on to the next step until this is fulfilled. We are left scared and vulnerable to ideas that will take away our rights and freedoms, like the homeland security act.

We cannot move on to be socially aware when psychological and safety needs are taken away from us. We cannot become conscious of the damage we cause the environment, and concerned with the safety and welfare of others when we ourselves are continually "threatened". The government continues to have control on the population through these tactics, and no better example can be seen then our current times with President Bush.

With Barack Obama recently elected, I strongly feel that this cycle of control will end and we will be able to finally deal with important issues such as health insurance, the environment and alternative forms of energy through greenhouse and solar energy, and jobs.
CHANGE is here.

GOBAMA! GOBAMA!

Well, I'm happy to say that i'm starting to regain my faith in the U.S. electoral system. Barack Obama won the presidential elections and in January, he will be moving into the white house. I am so happy to be alive during this monumental time in history and will one day be able to tell my children that i was there, and voted.
I really think that through the worst times, the best times can follow. You have to experience the worst to get the best. We've experienced President Bush for 8 years and everything that came with him (the economy, the war, homeland security, deterioration of human rights and freedoms, etc..etc...etc..ETC...!!!!!) and from this, i think we will experience the best. Obama knows what needs to be done, and there is nothing stopping him from doing it.

So here's to America - change is here and starting in January!
